  1. Age groupers opened up the Penticton Multisport Festival with sprint duathlon events starting on Saturday, August 19 and standard distance duathlon taking over on Monday, August 21.

  2. While elites and u23 also took to the duathlon course to crown some champions, junior titles were also awarded! Congrats to Cameron Richardson (GBR) and Delia Sclabas (SUI) on their wins!

  3. Over 3,000 athletes are competing over the course of the whole festival, but duathlon was definitely one of the age group favourite races! So many proud moments from everyone that got to participate!

  4. Ranging from 15 years old to 89 years young, duathletes from all over the world and all walks of life got to experience the amazing Penticton course! Even USA's Sister Madonna even made it to the event, inspiring us all by racing at 84 years old!

  5. Not only will athletes remember the day that they raced the beautiful world champs in Penticton, but those racing the standard age group duathlon were lucky enough to race during a rare solar eclipse!

  6. And one special couple had the experience and memory of a lifetime! Congrats to the happy couple, Japanese athletes Shintaro Ogura and Kaori Akiyama, who had a finishline proposal....He asked, she said YES!

  7. Overall, the sprint and standard duathlon age group races were the perfect way to open #Penticton2017! But stay tuned, we have more races to come!
