UIL State Finals: Refugio Bobcats vs. Canadian Wildcats

Refugio lost their 2A Division I state championship game against Canadian Thursday morning 61-20. See below for highlights from the game.

  4. Refugio's first drive began with an offsides penalty, which in hindsight, was an omen for how the entire game would go.
  5. Despite not scoring first, Refugio led in total offense at the beginning of the game. They also finished with 264 yards of total offense to Canadian's 388.
  6. Refugio answered early in the second quarter. It would be their only score of the game until late in the third quarter.
  7. Canadian went on to score 34 unanswered points.
  8. The point deficit was largely due to Refugio turnovers and failure to capitalize when Canadian had to turn over on downs.
