Brett Davern wins Long Beach Grand Prix Celebrity Race

Actor Brett Davern was the top celebrity finisher at the Toyota Grand Prix of Long Beach race on Saturday. The winner of the pro field was Al Unser Jr.


  1. Davern, who plays a drag racer in "Born to Race: Fast Track," finished second last year and was the top celebrity qualifier on Friday. He told Press-Telegram reporter Keith Lair he'd been planning to come back since last year

    “I really got the itch to come back,” he said. “I basically bugged everyone associated with this race to let me back in. I watched this celebrity Grand Prix on TV growing up”

Celebrity drivers were soap opera star Eric Braeden, actor Adrien Brody, "High School Musical" star Corbin Bleu, actor on MTV's "Awkward" Brett Davern, actor Colin Egglesfield, Olympic gold medalist Carmelita Jeter, actor Cole Hauser, "Battlestar Galactica" actress Tricia Helfer, "Amazing Race" host Phil Keoghan, soap opera star Vanessa Marcil, radio host Lisa Stanley, "Bates Motel" actor Max Thieriot, actor Nick Wechsler, actor Sam Witwer. 
  3. But that didn't happen. Jeter and actor Corbin Bleu both crashed during the race. First Jeter,

  6. The Pro field included retired NASCAR driver Kyle Petty,  two-time Indianapolis 500 winner Al Unser Jr., and racing analyst Rutledge Wood, who won the race last year.
