NHL lockout: Hockey fans optimistic as talks resume

Hope the NHL season could be saved continued to rise as players and owners reconvened Wednesday after talks went surprisingly long Tuesday night in New York. Online, fans were eager, pumped, excited, and optimistic... but with a side of skepticism about whether this meant the end to the lockout.

  8. There was word that a 1 p.m. news conference would be called if talks went well. As well, the NHL was looking to postpone a labour council hearing in Quebec on Thursday so NHL deputy commissioner Bill Daly could remain with the labour talks.

    “I’d say (Tuesday) might be the best day we’ve had, which isn’t to paint too overly optimistic a picture,” Steve Fehr said.


    But no official word yet...
