  2. I packed less food this time, as I had my clothes and toiletries to bring and didn't want to slow down too much.  This meant picking up food along the way.
  3. To see more photos south of Sedro-Woolley, see my previous ride.
  4. On previous rides, I've noticed that my GPS doesn't like having multiple maps generated by mkgmap.jar loaded at the same time.  The usual result is that I'll be able to use none of them.
  5. This time, I just cropped a North America OSM file, which worked perfectly.
  6. As for the actual ride, I started at about 04:00 on Saturday, after flipping the tire around.  The custom bike builder who fixed some problems with my bike the day before put the tire on backwards.  (A new tire was needed because the old one was 'in the red.')  The transmission also made a lot more noise when in certain gears.
  7. Other issues cropped along the way.  I recall having to work with the rear brake a bit when climbing up the hill of North Seattle, then later I had to fix some things in Mountlake Terrace.
  8. After reaching Everett, I saw a sea of fog in the Snoqualmie/Snohomish River valley.

  10. It was fishing season, so there were a lot of cars parked on the sides of the road.  Many of the ones not parked didn't think to use their headlights.
  11. I stopped in Snohomish for some hot cocoa, as the thick fog gave me the chills.
  12. After heading north from Snohomish, I was fighting some light winds.  They progressively became worse as I went further north.

  14. I saw this grocery store on last Saturday's ride, and decided to pick up some food and water here.
