Live Broadcast TV Streaming to my iPad with AereoTV

I just got access to AereoTV in Boston, and used it via the browser yesterday. Today I brought up a browser on my iPad and and signed on to my AereoTV account, and it works there too. Wow. I'm impressed. Let's take a look.

  1. From the Aereo TV website you can Add a Device.
  2. You can authorize up to 5 devices.
  3. The first show I brought up was Rick Steves' Europe.
  4. Friends of ours said that they love watching this show. The thing is, when we watch TV, we go directly to TiVO and watch pre-recorded shows.  I've got a lot of them queued up, so I don't usually channel surf, like I used to do in the days before DVR's.
  5. Next up I turned on the local NBC affiliate, 7 News, to catch the weather.
  6. The weather report came on, but my wife wasn't in the kitchen, so I scrubbed the player back to the start of the weather report, and paused the playback. When she came in, the screen looked like this.

    She asked: "What's going on?"

I replied: "I just paused the news on the weather so  you wouldn't miss it."

This is very cool, as is the weather today in Boston. :-(

Note: When you start watching a show, Aereo TV starts recording it.
  7. Here's why my iPad looks like in my kitchen. I've got it attached to the wall.
