May 17 Day of Action against Dirty Fuels

On Saturday, May 17, 2014, thousands rallied in more than 100 communities around the country to ask the president and local officials to reject the Keystone XL pipeline, offshore drilling and other dirty fuel projects that threaten our communities and destabilize our climate.

  1. Every year since the 2010 BP Deepwater Horizon oil spill, people have gathered all over the country under the banner of Hands Across the Sand to say NO to offshore drilling.
  2. Because we've had enough of this:
  3. This year, Sierra Club and other groups joined with Hands Across the Sand to add Keystone XL and other destructive dirty fuel projects as key focuses of the day of protest.
