- The pilot -- which appeared to receive a decent reception -- was followed by a brief question an answer panel with the cast of the show on Thursday.
Series stars Elyes Gabel, Robert Patrick and Katherine McPhee were joined by O'Brien and executive producers Nick Santora, Nicholas Wooton, Alex Kurtzman, Roberto Orci and Justin Lin on stage.
"It's exciting to play a real life character," Gabel said. "There's so much mileage in what the show can achieve."
"I spent a lot of time working with and talking to Walter," Gabel continued. "It's a very interesting challenge as an actor."
McPhee noted that part of the reason she was excited for her role in "Scorpion" was also a challenge because it was much different than the one she played on "Smash."
"I just thought this was so different and new for me," McPhee said.
Patrick just seemed to be enjoying the whole thing.
"This is a really fun role for me," he said.
The action sequences in the pilot seemed to surprise some in the audience and led to questions about how the show would progress in that area.
"This is a character based show," Santora said, "that being said. ... The action is going to be amazing."
