- Untimely Gamer tweeted this in response to twitter user CYBERSTALIN, a black brazillian agender person, saying how they didn't feel cared for in their activism. Obviously, the answer here, as a person who doesn't belong in any of the minority status that your critic does, is to ridicule them.
- The arguments from CYBERSTALIN cannot be accessed because they have deleted their account due to harrassment from weird twitter types, but in trying to find something, I did find that he did an apology and an unblock. That's how things should be handled, but the screwing up in the first place is important to denote: What I think that I remember happening was that Untimely assumed that his critics were just cis, white people who were concern trolling because anyone lashing out at him in a manner he does not understand is a troll due to, what I can assume, spending so much time arguing with GG types and applying the same treatment of dismissal and ridicule that he would against them.
Still, CYBERSTALIN straight up identifies themself in their twitter bio. It could have just been Untimely not giving a shit and then only caring when he realized that it was shitty or realized that people were skeeved by what he did. I urge to give the benefit of the doubt and just say he didn't know or checked and projected another personhood onto them. Which is still shitty. When I didn't make my identity so public, it was often I was misgendered, americanized, etc, because I'm projected a ~convenient identity~ onto to dismiss what I have to say if I'm in an argument. Don't fucking do that. - this tweet that I couldn't find an exact reference to, but it does seem to be about the Untimely thing
- Izzy said these embarrassingly ignorant statements which earned him big 'ol eyerolls from most people.
- Izzy doubles down on what he said by not only not even trying to realize what was inherently wrong with what he said, but also ridiculing those who criticize him and posting them up to be harassed. As a cis straight dude with 2k followers, putting two people who have way less social clout than you, especially one who is very marginalized, is irresponsible at best and cowardly and mean-spirited at worst. One of the people who was defending CYBERSTALIN (comradedio, remade their twitter) and Comemeism locked their account due to the harassment that happened due to that (not named and specified to protect their right to be left alone)
- Except attacking your ethnicity literally never happened. You can go check. I'll wait. I know I lost a lot of time trying to find this elusive attack.
- Tweets on point. For those who say "well, you're just yelling and attacking and not explaining what Izzy did wrong!", alright, I agree, that would be unfair, so here it is: You are a cishet man. you do not have the experience of women, women of color, queer women, trans women. They are the focus of the movement. you cannot speak for them. Calling that "feminist gatekeeping" is gross and bullshit and leads to silencing and downplaying of their words for yours. And their words should always have more value because they're charged with their experiences with being fucked over by patriarchy. Yours should have less value because while the patriarchy can be and IS abusive towards men as well (and you SHOULD talk about those experiences you had with it, and talk about how institutionalized racism affects you, as a mexican-american) men also, at the same time, benefit a lot from it over women. Men's value, in feminism, is using their much bigger space in society to boost (and to not take away credit from) the voices of marginalized women. When you complain about the "Ally Zone", it reads as complaining about being relegated that space. It reads as entitlement for a space that isn't actually yours. But honestly, a silly ignorant statement is not the crux of the question here, it is the lack of responsibility from it, of desire of understanding what you did wrong, of reaching out to listen, of apologizing, and the deliberate targetting of these much smaller people with your bigger social clout.
- and as if she was reading the future from the fabric of time itself.....
- being a minority and criticizing prominent aGG guys is the SAME thing as GG concern trolling. this is toxic, insidious, and unfortunately, extremely common from Izzy's followers
- There was this really gross tweet from a person who absolutely has no authority to declare what is racism and transphobia are
- Erasing the identities of those critics. Most of them are trans. Again, projecting identities onto them just like UG did at the top (which is why I thought it was an important tweet to denote even when he did apologize - there's a lot more of this too if you go see)
Also, being people who use their twitters mostly to ridicule GG types and equating them to your trans critics is telling your followers that it's open season to hunt them and ridicule them, since that's OK with GG people. It's absolutely vile.
