American Idol will have a special star-studded red carpet event before the winner is announced on Thursday. The American Idol Finale Live Pre-Show is a 90-minute special that will be available for fans to watch via free live stream.
The live pre-show will offer interviews with the season 12 judges and Top 2 finalists when they arrive. Judges Nicki Minaj, Mariah Carey, Keith Urban and Randy Jackson, and finalists Kree Harrison, Candice Glover as well as other celebrity guests will be attending. Idol season 10 finalists Casey Abrams and Haley Reinhart will perform a duet together.
The pre-finale action will take place at the Nokia Theater in Los Angeles and it will be hosted by Jim Cantielle, Jessica York and season 10's Pia Toscano
The American Idol seaon 12 finale is rumored to offer several guest musical performances from two of this season's judges, a previous judge and previous Idolcontestants and winner.
According to a report, Mariah Carey will perform a medley of her hits inclduing her new single,Beautiful, and previous chart-toppers Vision of Love, We Belong Together, My All and Hero with a gospel choir. Gangnam Style rapper Psy will perform his latest Youtube record-breaking single,Gentleman.
Season 10 and 11 judge Jennifer Lopez is rumored to perform her new single, Live It Up tomorrow
Season 12 winner Philip Phillips and former Idol contestant Adam Lambert, as well as Angie Miller - this season's third place eliminated on May 9- will likely join the lineup. The Band Perry may also perform with 5th place finisher Janelle Arthur.
Season 12's Top 2 contestants, Kree Harrison and Candice Glover, went head to head to earn the most votes to win this year's Idol title on Wednesday. The winner will be crowned during the live results show on Thursday at 8 p.m. EST.
