Donald Trump is officially the 45th President of the United States of America

On January 20, 2017 President-elect Donald Trump was sworn into office as the 45th President of the United States of America.


  1. On Friday morning, Donald Trump took the oath of office as the 45th President of the United States of America at Capitol Hill.
  2. Some people were fortunate enough to visit the nation's capital to witness the inauguration while people around the states tuned into their local news stations to witness the commencement of Donald J. Trump.
  3. Others took to social media to express their thoughts on the inauguration and the newly sworn administration. Some posts expressed more derogatory thoughts than overwhelming excitement while other posts used humor to convey their thoughts.
  4. Although there were a majority of Americans who wished for a Clinton administration, or even a Sanders administration, all pride was set aside to commemorate the beginning of Trump's presidency.
  5. Secretary of State and former running mate, Hillary Clinton, was seen with husband and 42nd President of the United States Bill Clinton. Former running mate and Senator of Vermont Bernie Sanders was also seen at the inauguration.
  6. With former running-mate Hillary Clinton being present, it seemed that millions of Americans wanted to know her reason for being at the inauguration so she took to her Twitter account. Senator Bernie Sanders sent words of encouragement to his followers regarding the inauguration through his Twitter account as well.
  7. However, millions of Americans are now more divided than ever with the presidential election at a close.
  8. According to CNN, more than 200 people protesting against Trump's inauguration were arrested on Friday.
  9. Comparing to eight years ago when Barack Obama was sworn into presidency, it was clear that only a small fraction of Americans came to show their support for Donald Trump on his inauguration.

  13. Even if it seems as if America has taken several steps back, it is important to remember that eight years ago, Americans elected a president who took the chance to hear the voices of many. Now, it is Donald Trump's turn to make his move.
