  1. Wearing a Great Intelligence shirt from Dark Bunny Tees here.
  2. The following tweet was controversial - 'neutral' was used in inverted commas to express idea that the library is a central service in a university; not owned by a department, faculty or research office. Because the library at least in theory is there to serve everyone, it can be better placed to help people who would be excluded by a publishing service owned by a specific faculty or aimed only at researchers. I immediately followed this by saying that of course libraries are never actually neutral; politically or otherwise.
  3. Well, publishing trade books is easy, in the sense of setting up with ISBNs and getting the details into the mainstream wholesaler systems and Amazon and the well-known ebook platforms. But as the following tweet says, distributing and making academic journals visible in the usual places for *libraries* is a lot easier than doing the same for academic books.
