  1. This month, 30 OGP participating countries are developing new National Action Plans (NAPs). Governments, civil society organizations, and citizens are working together to develop ambitious commitments to make public services more responsive, public policies more inclusive and participative, combat grand corruption, provide greater public accountability, and address the most pressing problems that each country faces through openness.
  2. Today is the first day of Global Co-Creation Week! With 30 countries developing new National Action Plans (NAP), we want to make sure that the #opengov community is aware of the requirements outlined in the new #OGP Participation and Co-creation Standards (link in bio) and that best practices and ideas are shared across the community.  Learn how YOU can use the #myNAPask and #OGPcocreate hashtags to influence your country's #opengovernment future!

  3. In an effort to encourage learning and exchange between countries and support governments and civil society organizations to make their NAPs ambitious and inclusive, we hosted the first ever Global Co-Creation Week.
  4. From March 27 to 30, we carried out a series of activities. Our goal was to make sure that the OGP community is aware of the requirements outlined in the new OGP Participation and Co-creation Standards and that best practices and ideas are shared across the community. In doing so, we can co-create solutions to some of the most pressing issues of our time and make governments more open, accountable, and responsive to citizens.
  5. Day 2 of Global Co-Creation week. Why does #cocreation matter? From the new #OGP Co-Creation Standards: "Put simply, the collaboration of citizens, civil society, political and official champions and other stakeholders is essential to developing, securing and implementing lasting #opengovernment reforms." Use the hashtags #OGPcocreate and #myNAPask to shape your country's #opengov future (more info in link in bio)! .

  8. To kick-off the week, OGP CEO Sanjay Pradhan and Communications Officer Madaleine Weber introduced the week's objectives and activities to the community on Facebook Live. The session broke OGP records by receiving over 1,200 views.
  9. Additionally, the Global Co-Creation Week started with a social media campaign in which we encouraged the community to use the hashtag #OGPcocreate + #[country name] to ask questions about the NAP co-creation process, signal interest in participating in the development process, and/or request support from the OGP Support Unit. Between March 27- 31st, the hashtag #OGPcocreate was tweeted over 560 times by more than 300 accounts from around the world, reaching nearly 8 million twitter accounts.
