  1. Hi, everybody! It's Fiona Reeves, the Director of Presidential Correspondence. It's my turn to take over the White House Instagram today to show you how your letters to the President are helping us prepare for his State of the Union. Every day my office receives thousands of letters, and every night the President personally reads 10 of them. It's one of the ways he can hear directly from Americans about their lives. Here I am yesterday assembling the last 10 letters the President will see before his address in our "Oval Office" folder. You'll want to watch Tuesday night at 9pm ET at wh.gov/SOTU. #InsideSOTU -Fiona

  4. Meet Carolyn Reed, a small business owner from Denver who was able to expand her business thanks to a loan from the Small Business Administration. Earlier this year, the President traveled to Denver and had dinner with Carolyn. The day after their meeting, Carolyn and her husband-inspired by the President's call and the story of another letter writer-announced that they would give their hourly employees a raise to $10.10. #InsideSOTU -Fiona

  5. "As with any other DREAMer, my parents came to this country with a dream of a better future for their children." -Ana Zamora, a student from Dallas, wrote to the President in September. Through the DACA program, Ana is closer than ever to fulfilling those dreams. On Tuesday, she'll watch the President deliver his State of the Union address from the Capitol. #InsideSOTU -Fiona

  6. In 2012, Jason Gibson, a wounded warrior, met the President at Walter Reed while recovering from injuries he sustained serving his country in Afghanistan. In October, Jason wrote a letter to tell the President about everything he's accomplished since then. After 21 surgeries and despite losing both legs and being unable to use prosthetics, Jason took up surfing and skiing, and even completed multiple marathons on a hand cycle and earned his pilot's license. Back home in Ohio, a local group helped build Jason and his wife Kara a house specially designed for their needs. Jason filled the President in on something else too: Kara was pregnant and due the next month with their first child, a baby girl. Quinn Leona Gibson will be joining the family on their trip to Washington for the State of the Union! #InsideSOTU -Fiona

  7. Victor Fugate wrote to the President to share how he went from being an unemployed new father to obtaining his degree and working with low-income patients to obtain medical care. He was able to afford his student loans with help from the Income-Based Repayment Plan, and he got covered thanks to the Affordable Care Act. As the President has said, stories like Victor's, Carolyn's, Ana's, and Jason's drive him every day and speak to the values we share across America. #InsideSOTU -Fiona

  8. This week, one of the volunteers in my office gave me this candid note from a kid who made us all smile about the upcoming "long boring speech." When I included it in the group of letters the President read this past Wednesday, he wrote on the front that he wanted to respond and keep a copy of it! Thanks for following along today and taking a look #InsideSOTU. Make sure you tune in to the State of the Union on Tuesday night at 9pm ET at wh.gov/SOTU. -Fiona
