KNIT New Lanark

On Tuesday 18th April, World Heritage Day, Dig It invited the people of Scotland to take part in a nationwide World Heritage celebration - one that has been 5,000 years in the making! Scotland in Six included free public heritage activities at each of Scotland's 6 World Heritage Sites...

  1. New Lanark is a former 18th century cotton-spinning mill village, which now produces woollen yarn (amongst many other activities) - so it only seemed appropriate that New Lanark's celebration would involve wool of some kind - and so a yarnbomb was born!
  2. Dig It 2017 sent out brilliant boxes of New Lanark wool, treats and tea..........lots of them!
  3. Partner organisations, volunteers and avid knitters across the country got busy!
