This week at Donalda School ... September 18-22

Quality Education in a Caring Environment

  1. Greetings and salutations Donalda School community,
  2. From my perspective, it seems like the school year is off to a great start. I supervise lunch recess each day and I have been pleased at how many smiles I see. Before we get into some of the details of the newsletter, here are some pictures taken from the classroom this week.
  3. During last week's newsletter, I provided some information on school fees. I would like to reiterate that there is no $60 general fee this year. The government put in rules which placed restrictions on general fees. There will still be fees tied to activities with extra costs, such as field trips and Stettler options. Please see the information below about grade 7/8/9 parents Stettler Options fees. We would like these fees paid by the end of the month and they go to covering extra costs associated with these programs. If you would like to take a look at the Donalda School Fee Schedule, please see the link below.
  4. On September 29, Donalda School and the Donalda School Parents' Society will be collecting bottles from around the community. The money we raise in the bottle drive goes to supporting many programs at the school.
  5. The first Donalda School Council Meeting will be on Thursday, September 21 at 3:00 pm. This meeting is important as parents volunteer for roles and positions. Many hands make light work and we appreciate the support. Child care will be provided.
  6. Be a leader in your community. Become a school board trustee! Trustees, as part of the Clearview Public Schools, make vital decisions about how education is delivered in your community. School board decisions affect our children’s education and the cultural, social and economic life of our local communities. If you have a passion and interest in the success of educating children and a vision for local education, consider running for school board. Nomination deadline is September 18.
  7. Congratulations to the volleyball teams this weekend. Both teams battled hard and represented the Donalda community well.
  8. The Donalda Eagles X Country team competed in Wetaskiwin. I can honestly state the all the Donalda runners poured everything they had into their races. I am very proud of our runners.
