This week at Donalda School ... January 8- 13

Quality Education in a Caring Environment

  1. Happy New Year!
  2. I truly hope that you had a wonderful break and you are ready to start a great 2018! Here is the January Calendar, so you can see the activities happening this month. We will send a copy of it home on Tuesday with students.
  3. On Tuesday, Donalda School Council will be hosting a Welcome Back Breakfast for all K-6 students. Since the Grade 7/8/9 students will be in Stettler for their morning options, we will provide them with a pancake lunch on Tuesday. Thanks to the parents for organizing this event.
  4. We will be curling on Wednesdays through out the month of January. I would like to thanks the Donalda Curling Club for letting the school use the rink free of charge. In the past, I have always hummed and hawed about whether the younger students should have helmets on the rink. I have seen a few hard falls during the past couple of years, so I am going to ask all grade 1-4 students to bring a helmet for curling. Any type of helmet, such as a hockey, ski, or bike helmet would work. Please see the link below for the schedule.
  5. Basketball fires up in a big way this week. Our first CARA games for the Boy's and Girl's teams will be on Wednesday in Stettler against the Wm. E. Hay B team. The Boy's team will practice on Monday after school from 3:00 - 4:30 pm. There will also be optional drop-in practice on Friday after school.
  6. On Saturday, the Donalda Ag Society is hosting Stay Safe workshop for students 9 years of age and older.
  7. Here are some Christmas pics from the last week of school.
  8. Have a great week!
