This week at Donalda School ... January 29 - February 2

Quality Education in a Caring Environment

  1. Greetings,
  2. We are currently at the midpoint of the school year. For most student in Donalda, this makes very little difference, but for our older students the schedule changes significantly. Here is a spreadsheet of the courses happening in Semester 2. Please make sure you click on the tab that says Semester 2.
  3. I noticed this weekend that there was a conflict between CARA Curling and our ski trip (February 9). I was able to change our ski trip date to Thursday, Feb. 22. This way all students K-9 can attend the ski trip.
  4. Just a reminder that there is no school on Friday. It is a professional day for teaching staff.
  5. The Donalda School curling team is going to Stettler for some exhibition games on Monday night. It is great to see the enthusiasm for this great sport. Wednesday is the fourth and final time for our school curling program. I think that it has been a huge success. A big thanks to the Donalda Curling Club for their generous support of this program.
  6. On the basketball front, the Donalda School boys and girls teams will be hosting Christ-King School on Wednesday. Action will begin around 3 pm. The Boys' practice at 3 pm on Monday and the Girls' team practices on Tuesday at 3 pm.
  7. Mrs. Andersson had some great tweets this week about Family Literacy Day. Check out some of the tips on bringing rich literacy experiences into the home context.
  8. Check out some of the things happening in the classrooms. Every time I go through the weekly tweets, I am thrilled by the wonderful learning happening at our school. It is a joyous place to learn (and work).
