Doubts about the Editorial Oversight at the Gray Lady

On October 29 2016, a front-page piece by Danny Hakim at the New York Times caused some drama. I'm collecting the responses from folks who have doubts about his grasp of the topic. A wide range of scientists, farmers, and other journalists have had something to say about this misguided article.

  1. I have to give Danny Hakim credit for one thing. I've never seen right, left, and center on food issues aligned so completely on anything. That's a remarkable feat.
  2. A further irony of the whole comparison with France--the French did a pesticide exposure study. It appears their reliance on high yield over disease resistance causes them real problems.
