  1. A description of the panel from SXSW:

  2. "As more is consumed on mobile devices and within apps, media organizations are faced with a question of how to compete with the original content on Vine, Instagram, Tumblr, YouTube, and other social networks. BuzzFeed has created an entire team to create original content for these networks, while others have tried aggregation, and entirely new media organizations have sprung up to answer these questions. What are their creative processes? How are they experimenting collecting data and measuring success? What are the pros and cons of publishing on a platform that you don't own or control? Summer Anne Burton will talk about how BuzzFeed thinks about these platforms and how her team there sees the future of media and distribution. This session will delve into real-life examples of what BuzzFeed is doing now on these platforms and what they have planned for 2015."
