NSA Leak: Is reality getting closer to science fiction?

It's Big Brother all over again. Or is it? I'm speaking of "1984," George Orwell's novel of a dystopian world where there's no privacy and an authoritarian state sees all and knows all. 1984 has become a shorthand for the reality that intelligence contractor Edward Snowden revealed last week.
