#NN14: Netroots Nation 2014

The Alliance for American Manufacturing (AAM) flew to Detroit for the ninth annual Netroots Nation conference.

  1. More than 3,000 people came together for this year's three-day Netroots Nation (July 17-20), the largest international conference for progressive organizers. 
  2. After landing in the Motor City, the Alliance for American Manufacturing (AAM) spread the word about the importance of Made In America and the need to rebuild America's infrastructure. Some of the AAM team arrived Wednesday to set up our booth at the Detroit's COBO Center.

  4. A highlight of the booth was the Body in White steel car.
  5. Vice President Joe Biden delivered day one's keynote address on Thursday afternoon... 
  6. ...and Senator Elizabeth Warren (D-MA) kicked off Friday morning. 
  7. Actor Mark Ruffalo even made a surprise appearance for the "Turn on the Water" march and rally later in the afternoon.
  8. A highlight of Netroots for AAM was Saturday's panel, "Manufacturing a Middle Class with Quality Jobs," moderated by Joe Sudbay of Americablog
  9. U.S. Rep. Dan Kildee (D-MI), Daily Kos Labor Editor Laura Clawson, United Steelworkers (USW) Local 4131 President Durwin Royal, and AAM President Scott Paul were present on the panel. 
  10. Among the topics covered by the panel: unfair trade policies, workers' rights, and holding politicians accountable.
  11. Krystal Ball of MSNBC even stopped by the panel. 
  12. Later in the day, AAM President Scott Paul spoke to the Netroots attendees about our recent manufacturing victory with the #SOSJobs campaign and the importance of manufacturing jobs.
