  7. Deschutes Woody Wagon

  8. The Schweitzer Mountain Community Association and Deschutes Brewery are coming together to bring the Deschutes Woody Wagon to Schweitzer for a weekend of food, beer and fun.

    The event is all weekend long, starting with tasting and tapas. They will begin at 4 p.m on Friday, March 1 at the Gourmandie. Tickets can be purchased in advance at the activity center or by phone at (208) 255-3081. The cost is $25 per person plus taxes and fees. That price includes a souvenir glass, six tastings and Gourmandie prepared snacks. The beers that will be sampled are The Abyss (Stout), The Dissident (Brown Ale), Hop Henge (IPA), Black Butte (Porter), Chain Breaker (White IPA) and River Ale.

    The race to the base is on Saturday, March 2. Registration begins at Woody between 7 a.m and 8 a.m. At 8:15 a.m, racers will load the Great Escape Quad. At 8:45 a.m, the race to the base begins. The cost is $10 per person. You must be 21 or older to enter. The price includes a souvenir cup and one beer fill for the race. Competitors must have a valid lift ticket or season pass.

    More beer will be served on Saturday, March 2 at the Chimney Rock Grill. There will be food to be paired with Deschutes Mirror Pond, Black Butte Porter and Red Chair Pale Ale beers. A visit to Taps to try the Deschutes River Ale, Obsidian Stout, Black Butte Porter and Red Chair Pale Ale is also recommemded.

    Woody will be pouring Mirror Pond, Red Chair, River Ale, Armory XPA and Chain Breaker IPA.
