House bill jeopardizes over 100 Kansas libraries
A bill in the Kansas Legislature could cause serious funding issues for Kansas libraries, potentially closing 48 of them. House Bill 2719 would affect tax dollars and bonds that libraries use to operate. The bill is causing concern for Director Paul Hawkins of the South Central Kansas Library System, who says the bill would defund regional library systems (libraries that serve more than one community).- Kansas public library service model is threatenedThis post is in response to advocacy efforts in the Kansas library community, opposing HB 2719.
