  8. Equity is an issue in edtech as the goal of educating students extends to all students. If students do not have equal opportunity then they are not likely to have the same successes and achieve their fullest potential. Right now there are inequalities among access to technology so this is an issue in edtech.
  9. My answer answer reflects what I wrote above the tweet. Not all communities have similar access to technology. My question is how do we change this? What are the steps to make technological access more equitable?
  10. Andrew's answer to what priorities should be considered developing edtech tools is right on in my opinion. Notice the word engaging. Students should be engaged in what they do. Also, has the phrase what students "want to do" should align with what tasks they are doing in school. Both of these point to a student centered education. Students who are engaged in tasks they want to do will be more likely to learn and try to achieve mastery.
  11. This answer is in regards to how educators can work with entrepreneurs to create better edtech tools. Even doing the twitter chats I see many teachers are also running foundations, writing books, or building companies of their own. Part of the answer, then, is for teachers to be a part of the solutions and create their own tools and edtech.
  12. This question is important because if people developing edtech tools do not know their audience (schools) then they will not be successful in helping create a future generation of technology literate students and workers.
  13. This comment by Renee is interesting, and a comment I have heard before. How likely are students who do not feel welcomed in the place they attend school for several years to do well?
  14. Interacting with others is easier now then ever. I list 3 tools above, which are only 3 of thousands. The internet has opened an entire new world of tools and places to collaborate with other educators. Students will use these communication tools when they are in the workforce as well.
  15. I found this comment in regards to what piece of advice you would give to an entrepreneur by Liza to be a great idea. Businesses need a demand for their product to be successful. There is a need for Spanish language (and others as well) resources currently. That is a good business idea and a way to serve a need at one time.
  16. In this tweet I give the basic but often ignored advice to know your customers. In this case it is schools, teachers and students. Businesses seeking to create edtech for schools should understand them.
