  2. The "NBC Nightly News" anchor was under much public scrutiny after discrediting one of his own stories about being in a helicopter in Iraq that was struck by a grenade, and has decided to take himself off the air on Saturday.

According to the Wall Street Journal, NBC News President Deborah Turness stated on Friday that the network would look into verifying not only the Iraq story, but also other stories that Williams has reported on as well. This includes the story of Hurrican Katrina when Williams famously told the story of seeing a body "float past his hotel."
