  1. The awards kicked off with a high energy performance by the talented Cuban-born American singer and songwriter, Camila Cabello. She sang her hit single "Crying in the Club" -what a way to begin the night!

  6. Viewers could vote on Twitter for their favourite Canadian musician in the Fave Fave category but tweeting hashtags.
  7. It was a memorable moment when Tyler Oakley, American YouTube and podcast personality, author and LGBT rights activist, said he'll be part of Toronto's Pride 2017 celebrations and he told us what Pride 2017 meant to him.

  9. It was encouraging to seeing Hedley's Jacob Hoggard at the MMVAs. It was a nice reminder to see how far he has come since his days on Canadian Idol.
