The #IAmANaturalist campaign was started by Kirsten Rowell and Nash Turley in an effort to reach out and reclaim the name. We acted on behalf of the Natural History Section of the Ecological Society of America. Between September 8 and 15th (2014), we had over 59 countries tweeting, well over 2000 individuals involved and thousands of photographs capturing the passion, beauty, and reality of why the practice of Natural History is critical today. Below are only a few of the photos posted. Others have posted storify accounts such as The ESA Ecotone Blog, Earthtouchnews.com, and The Scientific America blog. This campaign was a huge success, because of you! Thank you for bringing a global community together and for voicing your diverse perspectives on why its important to be a Naturalist. Thank you for painting the future for Natural History as vital and ALIVE! See you all next year!- #IAmANaturalist because of who I get to work with pic.twitter.com/BWWwOJCvGU
