Canadian Environment Week 2016 – A celebration of our collective #CANClimateAction

  1. Canadian Environment Week is an annual seven-day celebration of the natural beauty and wildlife Canada has to offer. It also serves as a reminder that it is necessary for us to take action to protect our environment. This year, the focus was “Why climate action matters to you.”
  2. Canadian Environment Week is the week in June that encompasses June 5, which is Environment and Climate Change Canada’s (ECCC) birthday.
  3. June 5 also happens to be World Environment Day, which, in 2016, celebrated its 42nd anniversary.
  4. The Canadian environment touches more than just ECCC and is a national celebration. Schools, businesses, individuals, as well as other Government of Canada departments, all chimed in on the #EnviroWeek conversation.
  5. The fun didn’t just end with Twitter. Sustainable Prosperity, also launched a Facebook profile photo filter so Canadians could show that they were celebrating Canadian Environment Week!
