- @edintfest 1972, age 18, on my own to Berlioz Trojans. Conducted by Gibson. Baker was ill but sang the life out of it. The start of my love for Berlioz
- @edintfest Usher Hall, Yehudi Menuhin playing French courtly dances with Rudolf Nureyev dancing - it was absolutely extraordinary

- @edintfest Has to be first concert I heard him. Mahler 5th symphony. Sitting in choir stalls an overwhelming musical, spiritual and visual experience.
