  1. Following a short break for coffee and networking the bulk of the crowd returned to the main hall for the second session of the conference. Those who chose to attend the main session over the first of the side track sessions were rewarded with some great insights to the challenges of the Data Economy chaired by Dr. Sören Auer . Fiona Williams of Ericsson described the big data challenges facing the electricity grid managers before a talk about NESSI and two European Commission  speakers who stressed the importance of open data. Such was the level of interest that the session ran well overtime into the lunch break and rumbling bellies were audible from the crowd.
