Yesterday at RootsCamp I facilitated a discussion about how the marketing principles behind Beyonce's stealth album release could benefit campaigners. The following fly conversation ensued.

  1. I woke up around 6 am on Friday the 13th, unprepared for the world. But my Twitter/IG/FB newsfeeds were on fire. Beyonce snatched my edges and I needed some coverage.

  3. But tweeting about the fabulousness of the Beyonce album drop wasn't enough. The grandiosity of it all was heavy on my spirit as I headed to RootsCamp and Jose Morales (from the New Organizing Institute) suggested on Twitter that it should be proposed as a panel. So I put it on the "Wall", then this happened.

  4. Fellow #roots13 homies spread the word, and it turned into a panel PARTY.
  5. People really seemed to like the idea of getting together to talk Beyonce and campaigning

  7. We also talked about themes in Beyonce's marketing style that applies to campaigners: having messaging that resonates and is relevant, embracing mistakes, accountability, connecting with your people, and sharing the platform.
