  1. #StudentStories - Kayleigh Walker

  2. #StudentStories - It’s never too late to pursue your passion. Having already completed a bachelor’s degree in an unrelated field, Kayleigh Walker decided it was time to embark on a new adventure. “I knew I wanted to go into interior design, so I researched which schools were the best fit for me. I spoke with several members in the interior design community and they all highly recommended Central Piedmont Community College. It was definitely the best choice for me.” “I guess I am not your typical student because of my past educational experience. I went from graduating with my bachelor's degree, to attending graduate school, to nearly obtaining my associate degree. I went a little backwards! But honestly, this program has been one of the hardest educational programs I have been a part of. I’ve had to challenge myself in ways I’ve never had to do before. I’ve really benefited from the hands-on nature of the program and personal attention from my professors. I’ve learned so much more than I ever expected.” “Interior design is not just about decorating – I’ve learned about architecture and building codes as well. In fact, after being in this program, architectural design has sparked my interest.” Set to graduate in May, Kayleigh will make her mark in the world of commercial interior design.

  3. #StudentStories - Ka'Rin Long

  4. #StudentStories - Uncertainty. Everyone experiences it at some point on their academic journey. For Ka’Rin long, uncertainty quickly turned into clear direction at Central Piedmont Community College (CPCC). Ka’Rin came to CPCC on a full scholarship and without knowing which career field she wanted to enter. She quickly found an associate degree would be very versatile. Now only a month away from graduation, she plans to use that degree to transfer to a four-year institution for sports management, and one day, work for a professional sports team in an event planning role. “I have enjoyed meeting new people at CPCC and creating lifelong relationships. I have especially loved the Student Ambassador program for giving me the tools to be more professional and successful.” “Take advantage of every opportunity you are given. This start has helped me grow as a person and a student. As I graduate, the tools and knowledge I have picked up at CPCC will be instilled in me.” #instaCPCC #cpcc
