  1. (1) Hey Marseilles - LINES WE TRACE
  2. Before you hit me with your car, I fully recognize the problem is with me and not with PET SOUNDS.
  3. My wife came across this guy who recorded a solo a capella version of PET SOUNDS.
  4. and to Dandroid the singer's comment "I don't think I should keep it to myself when there might be someone out there who might find it interesting"
  5. she remarked, "Oh, I think you should."
  6. One of the many reasons I love her.
  7. Out of fairness, here is Dandroid singing Pet Sounds. He does a very fine job with this very fine album, I'm sure.
  8. (2) Bela Bartôk - TWO PORTRAITS, OP. 5, perfomed by the Hungarian State Symphony Orchestra, conducted by Adam Fischer.
  9. I like the way the two portrait/movements are named.
  10. I. One Ideal
  11. II. One Grotesque
  12. This 1956 recording has them as "One Perfect" and "One Imperfect." It made me think how flimsy language is. It's not even good at pinning down polar opposites.
  13. Bela Bartok / Ferenc Fricsay, 1956: Two Portraits, Op. 5 - RIAS Symphony Orchestra, Berlin
  14. Grading midterm essays is also contributing to my thoughts on language's flimsiness, perhaps more than Bela Bartôk is.
  15. (3) King Tubby - KING TUBBY SURROUNDED BY THE DREADS AT THE NATIONAL ARENA
  16. Also, this number is just lovely.
