  1. A company cannot afford to be relaxed or ambivalent towards their pursuit of talent. On one level, talented professionals have a myriad amount of options available. Industries are shifting in very odd and versatile ways. For example, a tech business is incorporating at-home workers with full-time staff members.

They are dipping into areas they were once unfamiliar with, and are delving into their marketing, development, and other areas through the course of the web. Despite all this, they are becoming more niche. There is more room for tech companies if they funnel into smaller niche-oriented directions.

What does all this mean for the development and prosperity of recruiters? It means that talented people should be more specialized in smaller and smaller areas of business. It opens the door for recruiters to specialize, and that is nothing but a good thing for all involved parties, business leaders and employees alike.

    How Recruiters Find a Niche

Recruiters find talented people by finding a niche within a niche. This means that they do not just focus solely on one larger realm of business, such as tech or construction. They find a smaller industry within that infrastructure. For example, a heavy civil construction recruiter may develop a sizable pool of extremely specific talent. The talented professionals are not solely in construction nor are they solely in development. They are in the civil space, specifically the heavy civil circles.

    Healthcare in a Niche

Another example would be a healthcare construction recruiter who has established an identity in a niche within a niche. In this case, it is not a pool of talent involved specifically in construction or healthcare. It’s a pool of talented professionals who are familiar with both areas interchangeably and may be directly involved with construction worker’s compensation or healthcare policies for construction specialists.

How do recruiters find a niche? They find an area they like and they discover a niche within that. This is why niche companies cannot afford to dismiss recruiters nor can employees just venture entirely on their own. There is a balance, and niche recruiters are the best way to seize upon it.
