Here's a glimpse of Holgate Glacier in Kenai Fjords National Park. We couldn't get super close because it is an actively advancing glacier. While its overall movement was slow, pieces of ice were floating in the bay that we had to navigate carefully around and rivers of water were gushing from its lower layers. Then after crackling sounds and an explosive pop, a chunk of the glacier broke off into the water, known as calving. #BrownGirlsFly enjoying nature. Day 2. #BGFinAlaska.
