  1. I love the bird room here. It's an open room full of ducks and sea birds and they can swim, walk and fly where they want even where the human visitors are roaming. When I leaned up against the ledge to take photos of the birds in the water, I tried to move slowly as not to disturb this Tufted Puffin standing on the less than 2 feet away. He ignored me at first then at one point turned to check me out. #BrownGirlsFly loving these nature encounters on day 2. Cool aquarium! #BGFInAlaska.

  2. Now I understand why they call them sea lions. Dude's roar was something to respect! My nickname for him was grouchy because he was roaring a lot. #BrownGirlsFly loving sea life on day 2. #BGFInAlaska.

  3. We docked back at the port in early afternoon leaving me plenty of time to explore the tiny town of Seward. First stop was the aquarium and I had a blast at the touch tank -- hands on with spiny sea urchins, squishy sea anemones, and lumpy star fish among other animals. #BrownGirlsFly touching nature. Day 2. #BGFInAlaska.

  4. This Elk hung out for a while posing for my photos. With the bright green grass and snow-kissed mountains in the background, this photo feels so Alaska to me. #BrownGirlsFly. Day 3. #BGFinAlaska.

  5. The Alaska Wildlife Conservation Center is about an hour from Anchorage. The access to the animals is more intimate than in a zoo and many of the animals were rescued from bad situations in nearby lands. I'd never seen a Wood Bison before. They were down right impressive. #BrownGirlsFly squeezing as much fun as possible into day 3. #BGFinAlaska.

  6. Final shot of the trip: a selfie with the moose. With all the road tripping I did in Alaska and at weird hours, I was both hopeful and terrified that I'd see a moose. (If crashing into a deer can shred your car, imagine the damage a moose can do!) I did see one grazing in a field but it was too far away to observe much even through the binoculars. When I ran into this here moose in the airport, it seemed to be a fitting end to my trip. Goodbye moose, goodbye Anchorage, goodbye stunning Alaska. #BrownGirlsFly. #BGFinAlaska.
