Jana Kinsman Attacked While Riding Her Bike in Chicago
Last night, my friend Jana was attacked in Logan Square / Albany Park while riding her bike. The first tweet is the police report number if you have pertinent information. Thanks, there might be a fundraiser link later if she needs help with medical bills and/or bike repair.

You should encourage your friend to apply for assistance from the Illlinois Crime Victims Compensation fund to help with her medical expenses (info here: http://www.illinoisattorneygeneral.gov/victims/cvc.html). Crime victims do not receive financial assistance automatically and must apply to get these benefits. Unfortunately, no one told me this after I'd been injured in a hit and run, so it's good info to know.
