  1. 2012 marked my second sojourn to HighEdWeb, the annual conference of the Higher Ed Web Professionals Association. Between my academic career and my web pro career, I've been to a lot of conferences, and HighEdWeb is generally the most informative (and by far the most fun) of all of them.
  2. Since I arrived late, my Monday was mostly consumed by the two presentations I did. The first dealt primarily with applying the media theory of Marshall McLuhan to the tactile web, but was also a call for greater engagement with "big ideas" within the higher ed web.
  3. My second presentation, a collaboration with @marleysmom, dealt with the differences facing central communications teams and those in professional/grad schools or other smaller units within universities.
