Worcester Walk - #WalkTheWoo

40+ people walked in Worcester on 6/17/2015 with Walk Bike Worcester, WalkBoston and many co-hosts. Thanks to everyone who joined us, especially everyone from the City of Worcester and the Canal District Alliance who spoke along the route!

Our first speaker was Paul Morano from the City of Worcester: he set the stage for the entire walk talking about the student housing that was being added (independent of a college) at the Osgood-Bradley Building, the city's HousingDev Incentive Program, Union Station as multimodal facility, and Washington & City Sq Redevelopment.
  5. Our next stop was Franklin Street / Foster Street / McGrath Boulevard, where Steve Rolle and Heather Gould from the City of Worcester talked about transportation connections, 
ongoing streetscape improvements & the future endpoint of the Blackstone Valley Bikeway in Worcester.
  6. Allen Fletcher from the Canal District Alliance talked about the history of Green & Water Streets. He also shared his morning walking route and the human interactions that happen on the walk that help him appreciate his neighborhood.
  7. Our final speaker was Phil Neddrie from the City of Worcester. Phil described streetscape and other 
improvements in Union Hill, as well as the city’s approach to neighborhood 
revitalization through public/private partnership.
