  3. Then the Institute for Corporate Social Responsibility was born!
  4. Session One: The Business of CSR
  5. Timothy J. McClimon, President of the American Express Foundation, kicked off the first session where he spoke on the evolution and complexities of CSR.
  6. Michael Smith, Director of the My Brother's Keeper initiative, told us all how to #befearless, and Dane Smith inspired us with the idea of #compassionatecapitalism as guest speakers.
  7. Things were off to a great start! We were on to Session Two: Philanthropy and Social Investing.
  8. Dinah Dittman, National Director of Community Engagement and Philanthropy for Kaiser Permanente, wowed us all as she spoke on building creative confidence.
  9. Carolyn Berkowitz, Managing VP of Community Affairs at Capital One, was our very special guest that day.
  10. Then guest speaker, Michael Stroik, Manager of Research and Analytics at CECP, taught us about using metrics and benchmarking to inform strategy.
  11. And Sonal Shah, Executive Director at the Beeck Center for Social Impact & Innovation at Georgetown University, discussed trends in social finance.
  12. The next day, Diane Melley, Vice President of Global Citizenship Initiatives, Corporate Citizenship & Corporate Affairs at IBM Corporation, talked employee engagement.
  13. We also had two panel discussions that day where corporate thought leaders spoke on engaging employees
