#LightACandle16: Calling for an end to violence against women and girls

On 25th November 2016, WCIA joined with partners from BAWSO, Llamau, Welsh Women's Aid, New Pathways, Safer Wales and Unite, as well as members of the public and leaders from religion and politics, to call for an end to violence against women and girls, in conjunction with White Ribbon Day.

  1. The day started off with a march from the Llamau offices on Cathedral Road, up to Llandaff Cathedral.
  2. An important part of White Ribbon Day is about highlighting the important role for men to play in ending violence against women and girls.
  3. Once everyone had arrived at Llandaff Cathedral, we heard some insightful contributions from a range of inspiring speakers, leaders from a range of political parties and a range of different faiths. Candles were lit to commemorate the victims of violence against women and girls.
  4. It was fantastic to see so much support for such an important cause. Everyone who attended contributed to a moving and inspiring day.
