USJCAC 2016!

  1. The USJC 2016 Annual Conference kicked off on Monday, November 14, 2016! 700 USJC members, sponsors and supporters joined us at the Hyatt Regency Santa Clara in Silicon Valley!
  2. Vice Chair of the Board of Councilors, Secretary Norman Mineta and USJC President Irene Hirano Inouye kicked off the conference with welcome remarks.
  3. The conference included imaginative, innovative and inspiring Keynote Speakers including Hiroaki Nakanishi, Chairman of the Board and Representative Executive Officer of Hitachi, Ltd., Brad Smith, President and Chief Legal Officer of Microsoft Corporation, and Peter Schwartz, Senior Vice President Strategic Planning of Salesforce. They talked about the importance of people-to-people connections, future cooperation in tech between the United States and Japan, and our worlds coming alive with artificial intelligence.
  4. The new USJC Introduction video was unveiled to USJCAC attendees. Very special thanks to Council Leader Leona Hiraoka and her team at Integrated Media and Council Leader Linda Taira!

  6. Member of the Board of Directors James Higa (Executive Director of Philanthropic Ventures Foundation and Mentor in Residence of Index Ventures) hosted the first panel discussion of the day. He spoke with Hans Peter Brøndmo (General Manager of Robotics at X), Rochelle King (Vice President of Data, Insights and Design at Spotify), and Bryan Meehan (CEO of Blue Bottle Coffee) about the Silicon Valley Experience.
