CodeX Stanford Hosts Third Annual #FutureLaw Conference

Leading academics, entrepreneurs, lawyers, investors, policy makers, & engineers (and beams) gathered at Stanford Law School on April 30th for CodeX’s 3rd annual FutureLaw conference. The event focuses on how tech is changing the landscape of the legal profession & how these changes impact us all.

  1. KEYNOTE: The State of the Art of Legal Technology Circa 2015 with Professor Oliver Goodenough


    Vermont Law School Professor Oliver Goodenough, a current visiting scholar at CodeX, got the conference started with a keynote presentation on the state of legal technology, which highlighted the various systemic changes confronting the law and legal practice, and described the different technological approaches that the various stakeholders in the legal system have been adopting to respond to these changes.

  3. PANEL 1: The Latest Advances in Big Data Law and Analytics

  4. Stanford Law School Professor George Triantis kicked off the first panel at FutureLaw, moderating a lively discussion on machine learning, NLP and big data analytics.

    Panelists included Casetext’s Pablo Arredondo, Lex Machina’s Josh Becker, Michigan State University’s Professor Daniel Katz, Thomson Reuters’ Khalid Al-Kofahi, Ravel Law’s Daniel Lewis, and OnRamp Systems’ Paul Lippe.
