Speech by Prime Minister Kevin Rudd

    Parliament of Australia
My name is @SivParker. I am Aboriginal.
I am a writer. My blog : OnDusk
  2. This #TweetYarn refers in part to an invitation to comment on recent events in Sydney, and was published in Comment is freeThe Guardian (Australia)

I wrote the following opinion piece 'Demonising people of colour is not way to make society safer' on the anniversary of the Apology, but the issue I've discussed has been long on my mind.

There was a high level of interest, and to date over 300 comments, not all positive which was to be expected. It has prompted other's to circulate their own opinion pieces, none of which require further comment beyond what I have already provided in my original piece, and the comments I have also contributed on the 'Comment is free' website.

The link below also provides a link to a report of relevance, published in The Guardian UK in 2004.
