  5. Over the summer, 12 SCA students travelled to Toronto to perform a play called "These Violent Delights" at the @summerworks_festival. Directed by Assistant Professor Cole Lewis, the play was inspired by a scene in Romeo and Juliet, challenging the audience to think about the bigger questions, including, are memorials truly representative of history and loss? Can a specific monument enfold larger issues of cultural memory and capital? And what, if anything, is sacred? • •

  6. Today, SFU hosted a traditional First Nations ceremony to unveil a new welcome figure at SFU Vancouver campus. The figure, carved by Musqueam artist Brent Sparrow, is intended to honour, and to create a stronger awareness of, the local Coast Salish territories on which SFU Vancouver is located.

As part of the Capture Photography Festival 2017, the #SFU Visual Arts Student Union is holding an exhibition with the theme, "In Circulation", during the month of April. 
They are seeking submissions from students interested in the intersection between #learning, #photography, and the process of #time. Submissions are open to any student currently in the Faculty of Communication, Art and Technology, and will be reviewed by a committee of peers from the Visual Arts Program. 💡 👩🏻‍💻Submission #Deadline: midnight, January 17th, 2017 
Submit the following:
• Name, Year and Program of Study
• Contact phone and Email
• 100-300 word summary detailing the project or proposal you are submitting
• Images/Documentation to support your submission - in progress/completed/past projects 💬Inquiries and Submissions should be directed to Oscar Alfonso: olirasan@sfu.ca
