Movement 2017: All Are Welcome

Students from across Britain come together to say ;All Are Welcome' at SCM's summer gathering from 9-10 June 2017. Thank you to the amazing people at All Hallows Church Leeds for hosting us, and to the Real Junk Food Cafe for preparing some incredible food for us!

  1. We kick off our event by welcoming SCM members for the AGM. Expectations are high for some creative reports from our GC and staff!
  2. GC report via Haiku, limerick and cake letters? Check, check and check...Thank you to all our amazing GC members this year for their dedication and passion!
  3. We then sit down for a phenomenal three course meal prepared by the Real Junk Food project at All Hallows Leeds - a wonderful example of generosity and hospitality we could all aspire to.
  4. A big thank you also to Revd Heston Groenewald, vicar at All Hallows, for his love and support throughout the weekend. It was fantastic to also sit down with local Syrian refugees, sharing in their Iftar later in the evening.
  5. We honour all the students, chaplains and Link Churches who have worked tirelessly over the past year to welcome students and help us live out our faith.
  6. Saturday is all about diving into the themes of welcome - we're joined by Dr Rachel Muers to help us unpack what that means for us in today's society.
