Meaningful Use Stage 3 puts a heavier burden on doctors

  4. EHR incentive payments under Medicaid began May 2011 and are set to end for Medicare participants in 2016 and ending for Medicaid participants in 2021.


    The incentive payments are phased out over time and replaced by financial penalties for physicians and hospitals that are not using certified EHRs.
