Poland in solidarity with Turkish people

Past week the demonstrations expressing the solidarity with Turkish people spread around Poland. Members of the Turkish diaspora along with the Polish people and citizens from all over the world living in Poland took the streets and squares of Wroclaw, Warsaw, Cracow and Poznan.

  1. Polish activists participated in the Twitter #WeAreGezi campaigne supporting the idea of spreading the news about events in Turkey towards mass media commentators who did not pay enought attention to the Turkish protests.
  2. In Wroclaw people demonstrated their solidarity with Turkey on the 1st of June as well as on June 7.
  3. The simbol of the silence of mass media on the Turkish protests was very well understood also in Poland where newspapers and TV channels needed almost three days to inform about the Turkish events. Solidarity demos and social media reports exercised by Polish activists made that silence very loud!
