  1. Another "Teacher On The Rise"
  2. Top Of Texas AEC teacher, Molly Howell has been selected as the March, High School “Teacher On The Rise” for the Texas Panhandle by Mrs. Baird’s bread company. Teachers are nominated for the award by a student who believes that they have done an exceptional job. Howell was nominated for the honor by eleven separate students!
  3. Teachers are selected for the honor from across the Texas Panhandle in three categories; Elementary, Middle School and High School. Howell is the second PISD teacher in three months to receive this regional distinction. PHS teacher, Ashley Busch, was chosen this past January.
  4. Brian Hill and Mike Reyna from Mrs. Baird’s presented Howell with a prize package at an all-school assembly Thursday morning. She received a $100 gift card from United Supermarket, presented by Monty Kinnard, and a gift certificate to Coulter Gardens Nursery in Amarillo. Typically, the student who nominates the winning teacher receives a $50 gift card from Mrs. Baird’s. However, due to the large number of students nominating Howell, Hill presented the card to the entire school, along with another $50 card from Perryton’s United Supermarket, presented by Monty Kinnard. The cards will be used for a party for all of the students.
  5. At the end of the school year, all of the monthly winners will gather for a banquet and a chance to win a share of $1500 in additional prizes. Students may nominate a teacher for this honor by completing the online entry form at
